In literacy we have been focusing on the book ‘What the Ladybird heard’. We have been retelling the story as well as changing the setting and characters. We now have an endangered rhino instead of the fine prize cow and a poisonous rainbow frog instead of the little ladybird.
In Maths we are adding and subtracting different amounts to 10. We have also been looking at the features of 3D shapes.
Understanding the World
This week we have been to our local Tesco, focusing on healthy and unhealthy eating. We all enjoyed moving around the store finding different fruits and going into the freezer, which was -21 degrees.
Expressive Arts and Design
We have been getting creative and used pasta to create our mother’s day cards as well as spring pictures ready for our spring board.
Communication and Language
We have been talking about where our new characters would live and created different places for each of them.
This week we are practicing large movements and trying to move like the different characters within the story.
We have been thinking about our story ‘What the Ladybird heard’, discussing why the Ladybird doesn’t speak.
Please make sure homework is done and returned by Tuesday. We have only had a few pieces back this term and want to use all the amazing pieces for our displays.
Keywords is a major focus this half term and children need to be practicing these every night.
