Welcome back

Our first week
We would like to welcome our new Reception children and also our children from Nursery last year.

The children have had a fabulous first week back at school. We are focusing on instilling our routines and our high expectations. The children are enjoying telling us about the fun they had on their summer holidays.

Our topic this term is ‘seasons, magic and festivals’. We are going to be looking at how the weather is changing and how this affects the mini-beasts in our outdoor learning area. We will be reading ‘Argh spider’ by Lydia Monks, ‘Yucky worms’ by Vivian French and ‘Bog Baby’ by Jeanne Willis. Take a look in your local library to see if you can spot these books.

In reception your child will receive a reading book, a homework book and set words in a book bag. You are expected to complete the homework weekly and bring in every Monday. Please see the front sheet in your homework books for more information on our point system.

Brush Buses
To improve dental health in Manchester children will be brushing their teeth at school. Your child will be supervised while they brush their teeth each day with fluoride toothpaste. You received an information sheet last week. Please sign the attached form and bring into school if you do not wish your child to brush their teeth at school.

We have listed some helpful websites to help with home learning.
