Our Curriculum Enrichment

Take a look below at the programme of events for each year group for 2025 - 2026.

EYFS

Reception

  • Spring Term trip to Imagine That in Liverpool - science based learning focusing on communication and language.

  • Summer term visit to Smithhills Farm, developing cultural language and knowledge.

  • Little Groovers: Music, Gross & Fine Motor and Listening & Attention weekly workshop

  • Forest School: Exploring the World & vocabulary development - weekly sessions

Nursery

KS1

Year 1

  • In Autumn term the children will be exploring our local surroundings e.g. buildings, green spaces, roads etc based on the knowledge from the Geography unit; physical and human features.

  • In Spring Term - the children will visit a local church linking to their RE topic - Introduction to Christianity.

  • Our local panto will visit Seymour with an exciting show…oh yes it will!

  • In the summer term, the children will experience a Victorian workshop linking to their history topic.

Year 2

  • RE: Islam 

    In Autumn term, Y2 will visit a local Mosque to explore a Muslim place of worship linking to their RE topic - Introduction to Islam.


  • In Spring Term Y2 will explore Physical Features Manchester City Centre – linked to Manchester & the North West unit in Geography.

  • In Autumn Term, Y2 will visit the fire museum to explore the differences between firefighting today and in the past and to learn about the consequences of the fire and how it led to changes in fire safety.

KS2

Year 3

  • Selected children will have the opportunity to take part in the Young Voices competition in the Spring Term.

  • During the Spring term, Y3 will visit the gardens and take part in a science workshop linking to their topic on flowers and plants.

  • During the summer term, the children will visit Marple Locks. to complete fieldwork on rivers & the Water Cycle.

  • Y3 children will have the opportunity to learn how to ride a bike in Autumn Term, lessons will take place on the back playground.

Year 4

  • In Y4-6 the children will visit the Stockport Plaza for the yearly pantomime.

  • During spring term, Y4 will visit the Museum of Science and Industry which links to their ‘Teeth Unit’ allowing them to practice their science skills in action.


  • During the summer term, Y4 will visit the vale to practice their map reading and orienteering skills.

Year 5

  • In Y4-6 the children will visit the Stockport Plaza for the yearly pantomime.

  • Geography Fieldwork: Dovestones. Four and Six figure grid references

  • History: visit to the police museum for a crime and punishment workshop.

  • In Autumn Term the children will have the opportunity to complete their level 2 and 3 cycling proficiency.

Year 6

  • In Y4-6 the children will visit the Stockport Plaza for the yearly pantomime.

  • History: Tatton Park Links to World War One and Two - Evacuation Experience

  • Geography Fieldwork: Phillips Park Map reading and orienteering

  • Y6 children will have the opportunity to take part in a careers fair in Spring Term to look at different career paths.
