Attempted theft of Beetles!
On Friday in Year 6, we celebrated World Book Day by doing activities based on Beetle Boy, which is the book we have recently finished as our class read. We started by making bookmarks and drawing characters using inferences from texts we had read (For example: Novak and Lucretia Cutter!) We also made an etymology of beetles whilst conducting research on rare varieties. Not only this, our teachers had a surprise for us as Miss Aspinall came as Bertolt; Miss Hart came as Darkus and Miss Burgess came as Virginia. Someone stole all the beetles and hid them under a tissue box. Luckily, Lucretia Cutter (or Ms Williams shall we say!) didn’t find them! She tried her best throughout the day to take our beetles but we fought back!
