The caterpillar is hungry!

'In nursery we have been reading ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, by Eric Carle. The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a picture book about a small caterpillar who emerges from an egg and begins eating everything in sight. After six days of eating fruits, sweets, and “junk” food, he gets a horrible stomach ache! On the seventh day, the caterpillar eats a “nice leaf” and feels much better. The story is about the life of a young, hungry caterpillar who is in search of food to eat to turn him into a beautiful butterfly.  We received a letter from the butterfly from our story asking us to draw some of the food he ate so that he could give some to his caterpillar friends so that they could turn into butterflies too! We had a go at looking at all the different foods and chose what we wanted to put on our shopping list. Billy decided to draw a plum and some Swiss cheese, thinking the caterpillars would love to eat some cheese! '
