Meesha Makes Friends

Pupils holding the book

Meesha loves making things… but she finds it difficult to make friends. A warm and affectionate look at the joys and difficulties of making and keeping friends. The perfect book for helping children to navigate social situations and understand how to be accepting and inclusive of others.

Year 1 have thoroughly enjoyed looking at this book by Tom Percival and doing activities surrounding friendship and how to be a good friend. We played games and pretended to act out different situations, sorting them into ‘good friend’ and ‘bad friend.’ Year 1 all know how to be a good friend and how to act kindly towards everyone.

Leah says, “I am always a good friend to my friends. I listen and I am kind to my friends.”

Louis agrees, “I enjoyed acting out the situations and pretending to snatch the teddy bear from my friend. That was unkind and nasty!”

Riven thinks, “I play nicely with my friends and have lots of friends in school. I always try to be nice.”
