The Great Fire of London
In Year 2, the children have been learning about all about the Great Plague in their History lessons which broke out between the years of 1665 and 1666. In the next few lessons, the children will be exploring all about The Great Fire of London too and how this tragic event had serious consequences for the city of London.
Santiago and Korkor have been delving into the fiction and non-fiction books about The Great Fire of London from our class library and have discovered some incredible yet devastating facts!
Santiago said, “The fire started on Pudding Lane, in Thomas Farriner’s bakery. He should’ve put out the fire properly!”
Korkor said, “They didn’t have fire engines and firefighters in 1666. They had to use a tool called a fire hook to stop the fire!”
