What is Pink? – inspired by the poem by Christina Rossetti
In Year 1, we have started to look at poems the past few weeks and are exploring the different techniques used within poems. Our focus has been on the poem, "What is Pink?" and the use of rhyming words within poems. We have created a story map to help us to remember the poem, and have come up with some new vocabulary to help us with writing our own poem this week. The children will change the colour and explore what each colour could represent, with the aim of getting rhyming words into their poem when they can.
L'Reco-Blu says, "red is the colour of strawberries and cherries, but also anger and fire."
Yasir asserts, "yellow is the colour of the sun. It reminds me of happiness and hot days."
Levi thinks, "green is the colour of disgust in the film Inside Out, and purple represents fear."
Bella says, "blue is for the iris in our eyes and the calm waves."
