The BFG

Year 3 have been focusing on the BFG as part of our guided reading and English lessons.

The BFG is a famous Roald Dahl story about a young girl called Sophie who was taken from her bedroom window by a big, friendly giant called the BFG. The BFG lives in Giant Country with other giants who are mean, horrible and eat 'human beans'. Sophie and the BFG go on an adventure by travelling to see the Queen to help stop these horrifying giants from eating innocent humans from all over the world.

The children have loved reading the BFG and have completed different pieces of work surrounding this story such as a character description of the BFG and a set of instructions on how to make a drink for a giant. This story has sparked Year 3’s imaginations and they have produced some incredible work in school and at home based on the BFG!

Alfie said, “My favourite part of the BFG is where the giant eats the snozzcumber and thinks it is disgusting!”

Piper said, "My favourite part of the BFG is when the mean giants were captured because then the people were safe"
