The Boy Who Grew Dragons

In Year 2, we have been reading a fantastic fiction book called ‘The Boy Who Grew Dragons” by Andy Shepherd.

When Tomas discovers a strange old tree at the bottom of his grandad's garden, he doesn't think much of it. But he takes the funny fruit from the tree back into the house - and gets the shock and delight of his life when a tiny dragon hatches!

We have loved reading all about what Flicker the Dragon got up to in the story!

This story has inspired us to create some incredible alliterative poetry about dragons. We have included some amazing examples of alliteration using many interesting adjectives.

Some great descriptive examples include:

I wish I had a dragon with terrible, teeth as tall as sky scrapers,

I wish I had a dragon with scaly skin as hard as steel,

I wish I had a dragon with enormous eyes that pierce through

the deep, dark night.
