World Book Day!

The Day the Crayons Quit!

To celebrate World Book Day, Year 2 have chosen their favourite books to share with each other. The staff have chosen The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt. Even the teachers have dressed up for the occasion!

Poor Duncan just wants to colour. But when he opens his box of crayons, he finds only letters, all saying the same thing: His crayons have had enough!

The pupils have loved reading about the crayons and have discussed their emotions about how Duncan has used them. Then, they created their own letter to Duncan as one of the crayon’s from the story.

Nahla said, “I love reading the letters from each of the crayons. Some of them were so grumpy!”

Freddie said, “Duncan doesn’t look after his poor crayons very well!”

The pupils wrote their own letter to respond to one of the crayons from the story. They were very detailed!
